Although electronic cigarettes contain no tar, and the ours have been proven to contain no toxins, e-cigarette companies can not make any health claims until there has been long term research.
In America, companies have their hands tied even more, as regulations would come into place when they were marketed as reduced harm products which would probably see the products being taken off the shelf for years while expensive testing ensued.
There is nothing to stop independent scientists from speculating, though, so we asked Professor Carl Phillips what he though.
