The electronic cigarette
26. I think the fact that I was able to replace 90% of my smoking with vaping proves with out a doubt it works for me. However I still do "NEED" to smoke a couple of cigarettes almost everyday for some reason. OH well it's much better than 40 smokes a day.
27. Electronic cigarettes have been the only way I have been able to quit smoking.
28. This is the first product I've come across that I believe has real potential to get me off of smoking tobacco.
29. I am chronically ill and the e-cigs don't interact with my meds....
30. i can taste better now too..
31. Started the electronic cigarette, and never touched another regular cigarette since the first day. I feel 1000% better. Cough is completely gone. Shortness of breath is completely gone. I don't smell like an ashtray anymore. Better sense of taste & smell.
32. This is wonderful for those of us that need the psychological need of smoking fulfilled, i.e. the hand to mouth, inhale, exhale. I no longer even use nicotine liquid, just flavoring & vegetable glycerin in my cartridges. This is the best thing ever developed. I was a 2.5-3 pack per day smoker.
33. n/a at this time. I've only been vaping for 2 weeks 1 day.
33. People always told me I would feel better when I quit smoking, but I actually got very sick when I quit, every single time. I've quit for as long as 5 years on 2 occasions and been sick for the entire time both times, for 2 years on 3 other occasions with the same results. I have researched and it turns out smoking increases cortisol and reduces estrogen, which helps 2 medical conditions I have, and e-cigs seem to be a way to do this without the ill effects of smoking.
34. If e-cigarettes are made illegal, I don't know what I'm going to do. I am 41 and started smoking when I was 10. NOTHING has ever helped me to stop smoking tobacco cigarettes until I found the e-cigarette. I do know that if I can't vape, I'll be forced to go back to real cigarettes and I don't want to do that.
35. Except for my prior unsuccessful quit periods, I smoked for 44 years, and thought I would smoke until I died because I could never stay quit. The fact that I have been not smoking cigarettes for 7 months now is utterly amazing.
36. I have smoked for 30 years and nothing has helped me to quit. The day I recieved my electronic cigarette, I was able to quit. Nothing compares to this product and I have shared it with 5 friends(also long term smokers unable to quit), 5 out of 5 have quit. This is the best way for smokers to quit period.
37. I've reduced the number of cigarettes I smoke per day from 15-20 to 3-5 using the e-cigarette. I've been using e-cigarette products for about two weeks. I'm confident that I'll be able to completely replace traditional cigarettes with e-cigarette products within a month.
38. I have only been using E-cigarettes since April 29, 2009 - but haven't needed one since I got my e-cigarette, do not crave analogs or want to smoke them at all. Started smoking when I was 16 years old, will be 65 in September of this year, smoke at leas a pack and a half a day until the E-cigarette. So far this has been great for me.
39. I am a ex 2 pack a day or more smoker. I have been smoke free for two months, now. This is the longest I have gone in 22 years of smoking. Last record was 2 days. No more wheezing, have better lung capacity, taste and smell senses have improved dramatically. I now am in the process of weening myself off of E-Cigs and have been making great progress at it. It seems nicotine without all the chemicals is less addictive, at least in my case it is. This in my eyes is the greatest product I have ever purchased in my life. It has given me a new lease on it to boot. This product has changed my life forever. Please by all means contact me if you would like to hear more, and the whole story, as I have been keeping track of it.
40. My migraines and sinus issues i had...GONE! I smoked over 28 yrs and have not had to touch a real cigarette since I got my ecig! I soon will be decreasing the nicotine to eventually not have to depend on the ecig! I hope FDA does not ban this nor make it a perscription to get it as there are many as I and my husband that can not afford medical care so we are riding it out till we are old enough to get medicare in our old age. If we continued to be smokers, that would just lead to higher medical bills for the government to take care of. So FDA needs to really think this trough! This is the best thing ever!
41. I'm still amazed that after 30 years of smoking I finally quit smoking regular cigarettes after just three days with an electronic cigarette.
42. I am 20 years old, I have been smoking cigarettes since I was 12. I have tried to quit multiple times but I am addicted to the habit of smoking and I currently smoke non nicotine liquids. It has been almost a month now without even wanting a traditional cigarette.
43. My general health is much better since switching to electronic cigarettes. In addition to my cardio-vascular health, my gums are healthier, I am sleeping better and have more energy.
44. was using several meds for bronchitis and (beginning) COPD, lung-capacity was 65% at start of vaping; 8 months later lungs were 95% plus all lung-related meds not taken anymore
45. I did not plan on quitting when I bought my e-cig. I just thought it would help me cut down especially when working at my desk. I quit completely in 3 weeks and I've been smoke free for 32 days. For a chain smoker that qualifies as a miracle.
46. I did not start using the e-cig as a way to completely quit smoking. I had pretty much given up on that. I just felt how bad I was getting from smoking and having a hard time breathing and coughing in the mornings. I was getting worse and worse. I didn't go into it the way I did with smoking cessation products like the gum. I had no expectations, other than possible hope to improve my breathing and cutting down on combustible cigarettes. Completely quitting "analogs" as they are commonly called in the vaping community, was a side affect and a pleasant one at that! I feel so much better and healthier. At some point I may go down to 0% nicotine.. but not planning to anytime soon. (if i do, I will continue vaping). The transition was very easy where other nicotine delivery products did not work. having the freedom to self-medicate and at a low price has allowed me to gradually drop my nicotine addiction. I smoked over a pack a day... Had smoked for 20+ years. I may do this e-cig thing long term.. And i do believe this is a much healthier alternative to smoking.. I believe it, because my body tells me so. Caffeine and nicotine are on par with each other. I have never been a caffeine person.. it makes me ill.
Just as people self medicate their caffeine addictions with soda, coffee... etc.. I believe I have the RIGHT to have my nicotine in a way that does not ravage my body and lungs, or affect those around me. e-cigs should stay free market and not be regulated any more than caffeine delivery systems. Some people drink 10 cups of coffee a day, or only 2. It is only fare in a "free" society that those who use nicotine decide what is best for their own bodies.
I fully support not allowing the use or sale of these products to minors... but as adults... we have the right to choose what we put in our bodies. It is a sad fact that many children are hooked on caffeine. I wonder why no one is worried about that? Is it because smoking combustible cigarettes are so much more harmful than soda and chocolate? Probably even though the side affects can lead to obesity. e-cigs are no more dangerous than caffeine products in my opinion. But I would also have no problem with making children abstain from soda until they are 18.
Thank you.
47. Some of this survey would be misleading if I answered it correctly because I suffered a heart attack on December 10th of last year and it was during the stay in the hospital that I was introduced to the electronic cigarette. Since then I have not smoked but I obviously cannot say that my health has improved since that time, it has in fact gotten worse, but this is not because of the electronic cigarettes. In fact if anything, the e-cigs have probably helped me a thousandfold. Since starting using them I have quit smoking and have been able to gradually lower my nicotine intake to the point where now I am just one step away from 0mg nicotine. I will still use the ecigs and my epipe even after going to 0mg. I would like to get my partner to start using an ecigar with 0mg nic because he doesn't smoke it for the nicotine but the smell of the cigar is very disturbing to me now that I've quit smoking.
48. Smoked 400 000 cigarettes 40 -60 a day switched without a problem. It´s going to be much easier to stop using electronic cigarettes than analog cigarettes. I fell this already after 50 days of usage
49. I began using an electronic cigarette on April 1, 2009. I had no intention to quit smoking. I purchased the product out of curiosity. I have been using an ecig since that evening and never had another tobacco cigarette. I smoked for 41 years and most of that time, smoked 2 or more packs a day.
50. Although I have not yet been able to completely quit traditional tobacco smoking, I have *significantly* cut down on the amount of cigarettes I used to smoke (from 3 pks/day to about 12 cigarettes/day) using my e-cig. I can laugh without choking now and I don't wake my husband up by coughing during the night anymore. My life and sense of well-being have dramatically improved due to my e-cig.
