Did you visit UK Vapefest 2014?
For those not in the know, UK Vapefest 2014 was held at the county showground in Shrewsbury on the 2nd of August. Halo team members Emily, Will and Gemma and myself were on hand to take your questions and give samples throughout the day.
This was our first stand at UK Vapefest and we really did not know what to expect. It was great to hear feedback from all typs of vapers, using a whole range of hardware from Ego batteries and clearomisers right through to mechanical and regulated mods. If you didn’t attend this year, here is a selection of what you missed out on.
The Venue (The Weather)
This year for the first time UK Vapefest was held on a showground, the 2013 event was held in the grounds of a Hotel, so the extra space was welcomed by all. We watched the weather forecast unfold and we were expecting it to be a day of waterproofs and umbrellas. On the day, we got spells of torrential rain, sunny spells, and the wind tried to take our gazebo away several times (here’s a picture of me holding down the gazebo).
Popular products and flavours
Available on the stand was a range of Halo UK eliquid as well as a selection of batteries and clearomisers. Vaper’s were very impressed by the Halo Banoffee pie and Cherry Bakewell flavours and we had a lot of interest in the tiny 390mah Ego batteries and Mini Aspire ET Clearomisers.
UK Vapefest 2014 special flavours
On the stand we had 6 special flavours for you to taste and rate your favorite. These flavours were a bit different from our current Halo range and contained a number of blended flavours including;
- Summer Breeze
- Peaches, Mango & Cream
- Kiwi Passion
- Strawberry Cookie
- Rhubarb & Custard
- BBQ Sauce
Thank you for all the feedback, they were a big hit! We’ll let you know which flavours will be available in the limited edition range!
If you visited our stand you will have seen (and probably smelt) the barbecue sauce flavoured eliquid that was available for brave vapers to try on the day. We’ve never created a savoury flavour before and we hope you enjoyed this flavour as much as we enjoyed watching your reactions!
A tour of the UK Vapefest Site
Walking around the UK Vapefest site was an eye opening experience. It’s always interesting to see new e-liquid flavours and the new hardware that is on offer, what was hot and what was not. Here are a couple of our highlights from other vendors.
- The Decadent Vapers Chilli E-liquid using ghost pepper extract. We’d heard stories of the pain throughout the day and it was confirmed when I took a drag on this satanic creation in the afternoon
- Juicetrap tanks, drip tips and stands. We’d never heard of Juicetrap before UK vapefest. Juicetrap’s main business is furniture, but they also have a line of ornate cabinets to store all your juice and hardware, as well as a range of highly impressive drip tips (you can see how Richard makes them here).
- The creative bottle designs on display from Alice in Vapeland and Suicide Bunny.
See you in 2015!
If you couldn’t make it to UK Vapefest 2014, keep an eye out for the 2015 dates and let us know what you’d like to see in the comments.
