A vape tank (also known as an e-cig tank) is the part of your vape that holds the e-liquid. Originally these were known as clearomisers, but the term clearomiser now tend to be used for smaller, clear tanks such as the Aspire BVC tank. Vape pods perform a similar function to tanks, but are usually smaller and clip into the body of the pod.
When you mouth-to-lung vape, vapour is inhaled into the mouth and held there briefly. Mouth-to-lung tanks typically have a more restricted airflow for a tighter draw, require less power than direct-to-lung tanks, and use coils with a higher resistance (typically above one ohm). The term Mouth-to-Lung is often abbreviated to MTL.
With direct-to-lung vaping, you inhale vapour in a continuous flow through the mouth and into the lungs. Direct-to-lung tanks often have a more open airflow, need more power to operate than mouth-to-lung tanks and use lower resistance coils (typically less than one ohm). Direct-to-lung is also often abbreviated to DTL.
While some tanks are designed specifically for MTL and DTL vapers, others are more versatile, and can be used for both MTL and DTL vaping. These tanks use an airflow control which can range from wide-open to constricted, and are compatible with both high and low resistance coils.
Sub-ohm tanks are used by vapers who prefer mouth-to-lung vaping and creating large clouds of vapour (a pursuit known as cloud chasing). Ohms refer to the resistance of the coil, and sub-ohm means less than one ohm, although typically ‘cloud chasers’ will use a coil with a resistance of much less than one ohm. Sub-ohm tanks are only suitable for more experienced vapers. As with DTL, sub ohm tanks require more air-flow, low resistance coils and the ability to handle lots of power.

To our website you look under 18.
So, as a responsible retailer, we need to check your age.
You'll only need to do this once and it takes less than a minute.
Our age verification system is quick and easy to complete. Simply enter your date of birth, and our system will use the information from your order to do the rest.
On rare occasions, you might find that you don’t succeed on first try. Don’t worry - our super-friendly customer service team is on hand to ensure that, as long as you are 18 or over, you can still get your vaping supplies!
Once you have confirmed your age we won’t usually need to check again. (Exceptions can occur, for example if you change your name).
(You can help us check your age by ensuring your name and address are spelt absolutely correctly in the order form :) )
How your data is used
We use as little data as possible. The only data that ECigaretteDirect keep is information needed to send your order, and your date of birth (so we only have to check once!)
Your age is checked using Experian, which will check the information you provide against information in existing records to confirm you are over 18. No credit check is performed but a record of the search will be visible to you on your credit report. This will not affect your ability to get credit.
Why do we check age?
As you may know, there has been some concern that under-18’s may try vaping.
This is against both our company policy and the law.
And as responsible retailers, we need to do everything we can to ensure that every customer is of legal age.
