Problem: Getting e-liquid in your mouth while vaping
This can happen for a number of reasons, the most common being that your e-cig has been stored in a way that allows e-liquid to get into the airway. The other reason for this is the device has been standing for a long period of time, and gravity has taken its toll. E-liquid can also be caused by your tank flooding.
- Holding your ecig at the bottom, flick the tip towards the floor to remove any e-liquid trapped in the airway. Make sure you do this outside or over a floor that can be cleaned easily as e-liquid will escape.
- Using a small q-tip,carefully insert one end into the drip tip to wipe out any e-liquid residue.
- Remove the clearomiser and blow through the top.
Please note that this problem can be made worse when using a clearomiser with a lot of airflow as there is less resistance against the e-liquid.
Sometimes a vape, when hot, will ‘spit’ e-liquid into the mouth. This usually happens when you first fire the coil, and is characterised by a popping noise.
Some modern devices come with built in solutions to stop spitback, but there’s a very simple and low tech solution to this problem – simply point the device away from you when you first fire it up. If the problem continues on a regular basis, it might also be worth reducing the wattage levels.
