Built to withstand the elements, the Aegis Max mod is rated IP67 - dustproof, waterproof and shockproof. A combination of a kirsite alloy body encased in silicone makes this pocket-friendly mod robust, hardwearing and ideal for outdoor vaping. (See more about IP rating in the FAQs below.)
Using a single external battery (21700 or 18650 with adaptor), this convenient design means you never have to be without your vape for long as the battery can be quickly replaced.
With up to 100W of power, the Aegis Max offers the choice of standard variable wattage (VW) or temperature control (TC) modes to choose from and its 510 threaded connection means it can be paired with most vape tanks and coil ranges. (See more about TC mode in the FAQs below.)
You can change settings and easily view important device data including wattage, battery life and more on the Aegis Max’s 0.96” screen.
Who is the Geekvape Aegis Max mod for?
The Aegis Max is a great choice for vapers with some experience looking for an external battery mod that can support all vaping styles and withstand the elements. It is a perfect device for those who enjoy outdoor activities such as camping trips and hikes as well as for general use.
FAQs
What is the difference between a 21700 and an 18650 battery?
21700 batteries are larger than 18650 batteries, with a size of 21 x 70mm, as opposed to 18 x 65mm. They also have a larger battery capacity, which means they can go for longer between charges. The exact battery capacity depends on the brand and battery used.
What does temperature control mean?
In VW mode, the resistance of the coil can change as the coil heats up. In temperature control vaping, you set the resistance of your coil. The mod then uses the temperature of the coil to detect any change in resistance, and adjusts the power throughput in order to maintain the resistance and the coil. This leads to a more consistent flavour profile and can also extend the life of the coil you are using.
Can I charge my Aegis Max overnight?
Lithium batteries should not be left unattended when charging. It is also important to use an appropriate charger, such as the Veho Plug Adaptor. For more information see our battery safety infographic.
What Does IP67 Mean?
The Aegis Max has an IP rating of IP67 - meaning it is dustproof and can withstand water immersion of up to 1 metre for up to 30 minutes.
A device’s IP (Ingress Protection) rating refers to how dustproof and waterproof it is - expressed as a 2 digit code:
- Dustproof rating (1st digit): is expressed between 1 and 6 - with 1 meaning the device offers no special protection from dust and 6 meaning it is dustproof.
- Waterproof rating (2nd digit): is expressed between 1 and 8 - with 1 meaning there is no special protection from water and 8 meaning the device can withstand complete, continuous water submersion.

The Right and Wrong Ways to Treat Batteries!
Battery Safety Information
Do:
- Ensure you use the correct charging equipment for your e-cig (see below).
- Charge batteries on a hard surface.
- Turn your battery off when not in use.
Don’t:
- Use damaged batteries.
- Leave charging batteries unattended.
- Allow contact between your batteries and water.
- Carry in a pocket with coins or keys. (The Kbag is a great way to carry batteries securely and safely).
- Expose your battery to sunlight, extreme heat or cold.
For more information see our E-Cig Battery Safety Infographic.
Recommended Charging Equipment
We recommend the Veho Plug Adaptor and the Nitecore Intelli charger (for external batteries). Both are high quality devices from a reputable manufacturer, have performed well in testing and have the right voltage output for e-cigs.
Extending Your E-Cig Battery Life
With regular usage, your e-cig battery will usually last for 3 months, although they can last longer. The following steps can help extend the life of your battery
- Cleaning your battery terminal. The most effective way to do this is to use a cotton swab soaked in alcohol, but you can also clean it with a tissue or a cotton swab.
- Keeping your battery charged. Keeping some charge in your battery can extend your battery life, especially if you go for some time without using it.
