Getting Rich Off Big Pharm

Yesterday we wrote about the GSK corruption reported in Panorama. (And in a comment John S alleged that the FDA is one of the most corrupt large government agencies in the world.)

We also pointed out that the same pharmaceutical companies are funding the anti-smoking organisations who are against the e-cigarette, but who recommend expensive and ineffective e-cigarette products.

So just how much money are these groups making?

A post by e-cig.org points you in the right direction – to American Source Watch:

As of the fiscal year ending in August of 2007, the AMA had a net revenue 1.17 billion dollars. [15] Corporate donors include processed food and pharmaceutical industry giants like Pfizer, Sanofi-Aventis, AstraZeneca, Novartis and Walmart as well as Metropolitan Life Insurance. [16]
