Recycling Your Old Electricals is Easy!

Buying a new electrical or electronic item from us? We'll recycle the one you’re replacing for free. Simply send the old electrical item back to us within 28 days, show us the receipt or invoice for its replacement and we’ll do the rest.

You can also find local recycling points for your old electricals here.

Do note that if you are able to walk to a recycling point, or if you are driving past one as part of another journey, this may have less impact on the environment than sending it by post.

Why Recycle?

Unwanted electrical equipment is the UK’s fastest growing type of waste.

Many electrical items can be repaired or recycled, saving natural resources and the environment. If you do not recycle electrical equipment, it will end up in landfill where hazardous substances will leak out and cause soil and water contamination – harming wildlife and also human health.

We’re proud to support electrical recycling by providing electrical waste take back and advice on local recycling facilities for electrical equipment.

To remind you that old electrical equipment can be recycled, it is now marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol. Please do not throw any electrical equipment (including those marked with this symbol) in your bin.

What is Weee?

The Waste Electrical or Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive requires countries to maximise separate collection and environmentally friendly processing of these items. Find out more here.

How Are We Helping?

In the UK, distributors including retailers must provide a system which allows all customers buying new electrical equipment the opportunity to recycle their old items free of charge. As a responsible retailer, we have met the requirements placed on us by offering our customers the chance to recycle their old electrical items when purchasing a new item from us.

We take all your old electricals to a recycling plant for processing and separate into individual materials, so they can be turned into new, more useful things.

What Else Are We Doing?

We’re committed to minimising our impact on the environment:

• our power is sourced from 100% renewable sources
• we use recyclable packaging
• we have installed an electric car charging point at our headquarters
• we are in the process of switching company cars from petrol to electric.
