It’s also a hard question to answer. While vape juice choice is arguably the most important part of the vape experience, with so many brands, types and flavours out there, selecting just one can feel impossible.
Luckily, we’ve tried many vape juices over the past 14 years - and received feedback from many customers, both online and in our shops.

Vape Gold Gold Bar Blue Raspberry
Flavour profile: Mixed berry
You’ll find a blueberry and raspberry flavour in most vape juice ranges - but there’s a reason this berry mix is so enduringly popular. It also has a nice balance, as I find some Blue Raspberry flavours focus heavily on the ‘blue’ or add additional sour notes. With this blend you can still clearly taste the raspberry element.
Elux Legend Strawberry Raspberry Cherry
Flavour profile: Mixed fruit and berries
Part of the disposable-inspired Elux Legend salts range, Strawberry Raspberry Cherry does a great job of balancing the distinct flavours of this trio of red fruits. Available in both 10mg and 20mg strength options, you’ll experience notes of juicy cherry, sweet strawberry and tart, tangy raspberry throughout for a moreish and refreshing vape.
I really liked this flavour. On inhale you get mostly cherry, with the mix of strawberry and raspberry coming through on exhale. One thing that stands out is there’s little ice/menthol which is a nice change.

As someone who isn’t usually a fan of cherry flavours, Halo Max Fizzy Cherry was a nice surprise - with a perfect balance of cherry and sourness!You can taste strong cherry notes but can also feel the sourness on your tongue which increases the intensity. Neither element is too overpowering and they complement each other perfectly.
Elux Legend Banana Ice

A must-try for fans of fruity, refreshing flavours, Elux Legend Banana Ice layers the smooth, sweet and creamy notes of tropical banana with a hint of cooling menthol.
A very strong banana flavour, sweet and not overpowered by the ice so can be vaped continuously without getting too much ‘throat freeze’. A good fit for the quality I expect from the Elux range.
Elfliq Pineapple Mango Orange

Inspired by Elf Bar disposables, Elfliq nic salts are a great way to experience disposable-style flavour in refillable devices. Pineapple Mango Orange mixes a trio of exotic fruits to create a sweet, tangy and zesty blend packed with tropical taste.
This flavour reminds me of orange juice and I could easily vape it daily - it’s refreshing without having too much ice. I mainly taste orange on the inhale with mango notes added on the exhale. I didn’t pick up pineapple notes, but this could be due to orange and mango taking centre stage.

Rather than create a standard tropical mix, the unique, exotic flavour of dragonfruit collides with the tart tang of fresh raspberry for a vibrant vape that is both fruity and refreshing.
This flavour has quickly found its way into my daily rotation. Raspberry can be a hard flavour to get right but Just Juice has got it spot on with this nicely balanced, smooth-tasting e-liquid that isn’t too sweet or too strong.

This is a very unique flavour. The Tropical notes combined with the sweetness of Yuzu create a taste I’ve never experienced in an e-liquid before. While this flavour could be too sweet for some, I personally don’t find it sickly or overly intense.

I tried this e-liquid out of pure curiosity… but I'm glad I did! The flavour isn’t as strong as most other bar juices but is still present and very nice. It’s a clean-tasting mix with a subtle blend of aloe vera, cucumber and a twist of lemon and lime.

How we selected these juices
To select these e-liquids, we used multiple points of reference. This included personal tasting, but while flavour is important it’s subjective and personal taste is not sufficient in itself. So we also looked at popularity and considered feedback from customers, vape shop staff and other vapers.
We also took quality and brand into consideration - looking at factors such as whether pharmaceutical-grade nicotine is used and whether the brand has a reputation for caring about its products.
What type of vape juice do you need?
It’s not just the flavour of a vape juice that is important - you also need to consider the type of juice you need, and whether it is right for you and the device you are using.
Here’s a short rundown of the types of vape juice and the factors you need to consider. For more in-depth information, check out our E-liquid Buying Guide.
Types of vape juice
10ml nicotine: These are standard e-liquids that come in a range of nicotine strengths. These are sold in 10ml bottles, as that’s the current maximum volume that can be sold with pre-mixed nicotine. Most come with VG:PG ratios of around 50:50 or 40:60, and are best used with low-mid powered devices and high-resistance coils.
Nicotine salts: These use the natural form of nicotine found in tobacco leaves to provide a smoother throat hit than standard 10mls and come in a range of strengths. Best used with low-mid powered devices and high-resistance coils.
Shortfills: Larger bottles of nicotine-free e-liquids (though they can be mixed with nic shots) with a high VG content and provide more dense vapour. Best used with high-powered devices and low-resistance coils. See our Shortfill Guide for more information.
Which VG:PG ratio do I need?
Vape juice come with different VG:PG ratios. The most common are VG:PG 50:50 and 70:30, but you can find everything from VG:PG 30:70 to 90:10.
High PG juices, such as those with a VG:PG ratio of 50:50 or 40:60, are better for a tight, restricted vape similar to smoking, while high VG juices (VG:PG ratios of 70:30 and above) are better for vapers who prefer an open, airy vape with lots of vapour.

Which nicotine strength do I need?
Nicotine strength is displayed as either % or mg and in the UK can range from 0%/0mg (nicotine free) up to 20mg/2% (the maximum allowed under current regulations).
Nicotine strength is an important factor in choosing a vape juice, especially for those just switching from smoking. If your nicotine strength is not high enough it won’t adequately satisfy your cravings.
Studies show that using too low a nicotine strength is one of the biggest reasons some smokers fail to switch to vaping. While it’s important to try different nicotine strengths to see which is right for you, do remember that the harm from smoking comes from the smoke, not the nicotine, and avoid using a juice that is too low for your needs.
