What are vape mod kits?
Vape mod kits include both a mod device and a tank. The mod provides the power and controls, while the tank holds the coil and e-liquid. The tank and mod are usually attached via a threaded 510 connection - meaning most tanks and mods are cross-compatible.
You’ll find mod devices in either fixed or replaceable battery options. For replaceable battery mods, the battery is usually an 18650 or 21700. For maximum battery capacity, we recommend choosing a mod that uses dual 21700 batteries.
As your mod kit will usually include replacement coils and a compatible charging cable, the only thing you need to buy separately is the e-liquid and, if needed, a replaceable battery.
Vape tank size limit
There is one crucial difference between UK vape mod kits and those outside Europe. This is due to the EU’s Tobacco Products Directive 2 (TPD 2) law, which limits the size of vape tanks to 2ml. This is why you’ll notice some tanks or mod kits listed as ‘TPD version’.
Are vape mods right for you?
While vape mods have a reputation for being difficult to use and exclusive to experienced, Direct-Lung (DL) vapers, nowadays there are vape mods suited to most users.
Many modern mods feature a ‘Smart mode’ option that sets the best power output for your coil - making them more accessible to users with limited experience while still offering other, more advanced modes for those who want to fine-tune their vape. Most vape tanks also now take a wider range of coils, with options for Mouth-to-Lung (MTL) and restricted Direct-Lung (RDL) vapers.
So, while we usually recommend mod kits to more experienced vapers, there are also some that are suitable for newer vapers who prefer a larger device, longer battery life and an airy inhale while not being afraid to do a little bit of learning.
