What are 50/50 e-liquids?

VG:PG 50:50 refers to the mixture of propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerine (VG) in the e-liquid base. Prior to adding flavourings and nicotine, this base will consist of 50% VG and 50% PG.

Both VG and PG have different properties: VG is sweeter, thicker and produces more vapour, while PG produces a stronger hit on the back of the throat. By mixing the two in an equal ratio, VG:PG 50:50 e-liquids balance these two different properties to produce a moderate throat hit and moderate vapour.

Are 50/50 e-liquid right for me?

50:50 e-liquids are used by most vapers, as they work well with starter kits, pod systems and most vape pens. However, they are not ideal for vapers using advanced kits and low-resistance coils, as these devices work best with high VG e-liquids.

Vapers who prefer a stronger throat hit will be better with a VG:PG ratio of 40:60 or 30:70, while vapers who prefer an airy vape and a Direct-Lung inhale will be better off using e-liquids with a VG:PG ratio of around 70:30.
