FAQs
What is a vape pen?
A vape pen is a long, cylindrical vaping device made up of a battery and a tank or pod that holds the coil and e-liquid. The name comes from the pen-like shape rather than any one design.
Most vape pens use a single button or draw activation, so there are no settings to learn. You will find options for everything from mouth-to-lung (MTL) vaping, which mimics the draw of a cigarette, to more powerful direct-lung (DL) vaping.
Are vape pens right for me?
Vape pens suit vapers who want a slim, discreet device that is stylish, easy to use and easy to carry.
How much does a vape pen cost?
Prefilled vape pens are the cheapest way to start. Refillable vape pen kits usually cost more upfront but work out cheaper over time as e-liquid per ml is substantially cheaper than pods.
For example, a 2ml elf bar pod costs £4.99, or almost £2.50 per ml. A 10ml bottle of e-liquid typically costs £3.99, which is just under 40p per ml.
Most modern refillable vape pens use fixed-coil pods, which typically need replacing every two weeks or so. Classic tank pens like the PockeX and Endura T18II take replacement coils instead. Both work out substantially cheaper than buying prefilled pods.
Are vape pens rechargeable?
All modern vape pens are rechargeable, including the rechargeable pen kits in this collection. Charging is done via USB, with fast charging on many newer models.
Which vape pen kit should I choose?
For most new vapers, the PockeX by Aspire is the best refillable vape pen in this collection, with a strong throat hit that suits people switching from smoking.
If you want prefilled simplicity, the 600 Pro kit by SKE is the easiest way to try a vape pen. For classic pen-style vaping with adjustable airflow, choose the Endura T18II by Innokin.
What is the difference between a vape pen and a pod kit?
A pod kit can be a vape pen, and vice versa. A vape pen is typically cylindrical, like the pens it is named after, and often pairs a built-in battery with a refillable tank instead of a pod. A pod kit is often (but not always) shorter and boxier. A pod system will always have a pod instead of a tank.
