Smok Nord coils are available in a range of different designs, including mesh, ceramic and stainless steel, and resistances to cater for different styles of vaping and e-liquid.

The Smok Nord 0.8ohm mesh coil is designed for a Mouth-to-lung Vape. This will deliver a stronger throat hit and more vapour than the 1.8ohm coil. Do note this only fits Nord pods, not RPM pods.

The 0.6ohm coil is great for an airier vape and will produce larger clouds of vapour, although you won't get the huge clouds you would expect from a vape mod. These coils also feature a modern mesh design which increases the surface area of the vape, ensuring greater exposure to the e-liquid for improved flavour and taste.You can learn more about mesh designs here.

What is the difference between the Nord coils?

The 1.4ohm regular coil is perfect for higher-PG e-liquids and nicotine salts and offers a tighter draw which is ideal for mouth-to-lung vapers. Alternatively, choose the 1.4ohm ceramic coil which offers higher temperature resistance, is more suitable for use at higher wattages and can offer a longer life span.

How long does the coil last?

Coil life depends on many factors, including how long you puff for, the e-liquid you use and the wattage you use your coil at. Low-resistance coils are used at higher wattages and do not last as long as high resistance coils.

You can extend coil life by priming the coil before usage (see product care), by using e-liquid with the right VG:PG ratios, by not going above the recommended wattage and by topping up your tank so that the coil never dries out. With care, Nord coils should last anything from a few days to a week or more.

Which Nord coil is best for nicotine salts?

Nicotine salts are best used with higher resistance coils, such as the Nord 1.4ohm ceramic coil.

Can you clean a Smok Nord coil?

Yes. Remove the coil and wash it in hot (but not boiling water). Ensure you leave the coil for 24 hours before using it again, as it needs to be free from moisture. You can also clean the coil with white alcohol.

Product Care

Maximise coil life and longevity

  • Allow e-liquid to soak into a new coil for at least five minutes before using it for the first time.*
  • Keep the e-liquid in your tank above the level of the coil. This ensures the coil remains saturated.
  • When using a bottom charging device, remove the tank or pod when charging and store it upright.
  • Use the correct wattage for the coil you are using. Wattage ranges are usually written on the coil itself or can be found on the packaging.

*Note that low-resistance coils used at higher wattages may need additional priming. Add a drop of e-liquid into each of the coil’s ports and allow extra time for it to soak in.

When to change a coil

Coils will need changing from time to time. Here are signs that your coil needs replacing:

  • Inhale feels scratchy or harsh.
  • Flavour starts to diminish.
  • Vapour production reduces or ceases.

Do note that low-resistance coils used at high wattages will need changing more frequently than high-resistance coils used at low wattages.

Coils are a consumable product, and as such, will be replaced only if faulty on arrival. Please let us know within 5 days of receipt if your new coil does not work.

What does your warranty mean?

We guarantee that your device is, and will remain, free from defects for the period of the warranty. Please note - this applies to faulty products, and not accidental damage (e.g. dropping on a hard floor!)

How do I get a replacement?

In the unlikely event you have a problem with your device, just contact our friendly customer service team on [email protected].

You’ll need to return the item (we can cover a free delivery charge). If we are unable to diagnose and solve your issue, we’ll send you a replacement by Royal Mail First Class. It helps if you have your order number, but if not our team should be able to find your order using your email address.
