8 Best Vape Tanks for 2026 (UK)
The vape tank is, arguably, the most important part of any vape kit. While the battery simply delivers power, the tank controls the airflow, throat hit and flavour – so choosing the right one is crucial.
To help you with that choice, our expert team of reviewers has put dozens of different models through their paces.
After extensive testing, here’s what we think are the seven best vape tanks available today, along with in-depth reviews to help you choose.

Vaporesso iTank T: Premium quality & precise airflow control
Reviewed by: Maya, ECD Team
|
What we like: ✔️ Premium build quality ✔️ Rich flavour ✔️ Precise airflow adjustment |
What we don’t like: ● Hard to find any cons with this tank, other than it might not be suitable for new vapers |
Having previously used the Vaporesso iTank 2, I was pleased to see the newer iTank T was very similar - albeit with some welcome improvements.
This definitely feels like a premium vape tank, with 10/10 build quality and solid connections. I also like that the tank comes with an included extra bulb glass.
Using the included 0.4ohm GTi coil with a VG:PG 70:30 shortfill produced the rich, intense flavour I expect from the iTank range. The newly-added top airflow control also has very precise adjustment, meaning I could adjust my inhale perfectly to my needs.
This is a great option for sub-ohm vapers looking for a top-quality tank, particularly fans of the iTank series.
You'll love this if: You're an experienced sub-ohm vaper who wants the best build quality and richest flavour, particularly if you're already a fan of the iTank range.
Alternatives: Choose the Smok TF-D Subtank for a similarly rich vape with a convenient sliding top fill, or the Geekvape Zeus if smooth, adjustable airflow is your priority.

Smok TF-D Subtank: Rich flavour & vapour
Reviewed by: Lloyd, ECD Team

What we like: ✔️ Great flavour & vapour production ✔️ Precise adjustable airflow ✔️ Convenient sliding top fill design |
What we don’t like: ● Filling hole could be larger |
The TF-D Subtank has everything you’d expect from a Smok vape tank - namely, plenty of flavour and vapour. Using the included 0.15ohm Smok D coil with my usual Blue Raspberry shortfill, I detected flavour elements I’d never noticed before and the vapour production was great.
Top-placed airflow control is a nice touch for leak prevention and there’s plenty of adjustment to precisely tailor your airflow to your needs. It’s also always handy to have a sliding top-fill tank as you can easily fill without removing the tank from the mod.
The only small flaw I noticed was that the filling hole could be larger as, while it accommodates my 50ml bottle nib, I think you’d struggle to get a 100ml bottle nib in there.
Overall, this is a perfect tank for sub-ohm vapers looking for rich flavour and vapour and plenty of customisation.
You'll love this if: You want strong flavour and impressive vapour from a well-featured sub-ohm tank with the convenience of sliding top fill.
Alternatives: Choose the Vaporesso iTank T for a more premium build and precisely controlled airflow, or the Geekvape Zeus if you want a dedicated Direct-Lung setup with a matte premium feel.

Aspire Nautilus 3: Wide airflow range
Reviewed by: James, ECD Team
|
What we like: ✔️ Wide airflow range ✔️ Sliding top fill ✔️ Choice of drip tips |
What we don’t like: ● Not for serious Direct-Lung vapers |
Aspire’s Nautilus tank series already has a reputation for producing great vape tanks and the latest in the collection, the Nautilus 3, is no exception.
Compatible with the Nautilus coil range, the tank can be used for both Mouth-to-Lung and Direct-Lung vaping styles but I find it really comes into its own as an MTL tank.
The strength of the Nautilus 3 tank lies in its wide airflow range - with 7 airflow holes ranging in size from a narrow 0.8mm all the way up to a wide 30mm. This gives you a chance to precisely tailor the airflow to create a very restricted or very airy vape depending on what you prefer. As well as the airflow ring, the Nautilus 3 tanks come with a choice of both a wide and a narrow drip tip to further tailor the draw.
The tank also benefits from easy-to-use features suited to even the most inexperienced vapers, including leak-free coil installation thanks to sliding shutters on the coil chamber and a sliding top-fill cap.
Works best for Mouth-to-Lung vapers who might want to occasionally play around with Direct-Lung vaping.
You'll love this if: You want an MTL tank with precise airflow control and the flexibility to experiment with a slightly airier draw when the mood takes you.
Alternatives: Choose the Aspire BVC ET-S for a simpler, fixed-airflow MTL setup with outstanding coil life, or the Innokin Zlide Top if you want one tank that handles both MTL and DL styles.

Innokin GO S: Fixed coil and fuss free
Reviewed by: James, ECD Team
|
What we like: ✔️ Super easy-to-use ✔️ Light on battery use ✔️ Slide-to-open refilling |
What we don’t like: ● Fixed coil means the whole tank must be replaced |
The Innokin GO S is a very simple and easy-to-use MTL tank, perfect for beginner vapers, as minimal settings means it’s a great setup for fuss-free vaping.
While they were originally intended for the Go S device, Go S tanks have a 510 connection which means they can be used with most vape mods. What’s more, its high-resistance coils mean you don’t need a high-powered device to get the most out of it.
Note that Go S tanks have fixed coils, so when it comes to the end of its life you just throw it away and use a new one. Now, I personally like being able to change the coils, but the popularity of fixed coil pods means I am probably in the minority. So having a fixed coil tank opens up the world of tank vaping to more people, and is especially valuable for new vapers or people with reduced mobility.
Other than that, it behaves like a standard tank. I find the taste decent, and I like that you can still adjust the air intake for a looser or more restricted vape.
You'll love this if: You're new to vaping and want the simplest possible setup - no coil changes, no complicated settings, just fill and go.
Alternatives: Choose the Aspire Nautilus 3 when you're ready for more airflow control and greater flexibility, or the Innokin Go Max if you want the same no-fuss approach but with Direct-Lung vaping and bigger clouds.

Innokin Go Max: Fixed coil DL tank

What we like: ✔️ Fixed low-resistance coil ✔️ Easy sliding top fill ✔️ Adjustable airflow |
What we don’t like: ● Disposable design creates more waste |
I remember being very excited at the launch of the Go Max.
That’s because traditionally Direct-Lung vaping has been complex and often the reserve of the technically minded. The Go Max reverses this, because, just like the Go S, it has a fixed coil, allowing more people to enjoy an airy, vapour-filled Direct-Lung vape.
And not just at low wattages. The Go Max tank comes with a fixed 0.19ohm coil that can handle up to 80 watts (and there’s rarely any need to go higher than that!). I found the coils don’t last particularly long at 80 watts, but that’s pretty standard for coils used at high wattages.
Again, I prefer replaceable coils, but fixed coils are kind of the point - unfortunately the waste is a trade off for the convenience.
For an easy-to-use companion to the Go Max tank see the Go Max device, which features all the power needed for the tank - while still being super easy to use with a single-button design and auto wattage setting.
You'll love this if: You want to try Direct-Lung vaping and bigger clouds without the complexity of a traditional sub-ohm tank.
Alternatives: Choose the Innokin Go S if you prefer a tight MTL draw with maximum simplicity, or the Geekvape Zeus if you're ready to step up to a full-featured DL tank.

Innokin Zlide Top: Tough & versatile
Reviewed by: James, ECD Team
|
What we like: ✔️ Tough design ✔️ Supports MTL & DL vaping ✔️ Precise airflow control ✔️ Easy sliding top fill |
What we don’t like: ● Screw-in coils are fiddlier than push-fit designs |
Innokin’s Zlide has long been one of our favourite vape tanks thanks to its toughness and versatility. The updated Zlide Top tank retains this durable design while adding a new and improved top-placed airflow for more precise control and extra protection against leaks.
A great all-rounder, this new incarnation retains the Zlide’s versatility too. Working with the Z coil range, the Zlide Top is able to support both MTL and DL styles, while the new and improved airflow control means you can switch between a tighter or looser inhale. The sliding top fill design also makes refilling quick and easy.
The only downside you may find with the Zlide Top is the screw-in design of the compatible Z coils - which are a little more fiddly than the newer, push-fit designs we’re seeing.
You'll love this if: You want a tough, versatile tank that handles both MTL and DL vaping and is built to take some punishment.
Alternatives: Choose the Aspire Nautilus 3 for a dedicated MTL setup with a wider airflow range, or the Geekvape Zeus if you mainly vape DL and want the smoothest possible airflow experience.

Geekvape Zeus: Premium feel & excellent airflow
Reviewed by: Lloyd, ECD Team
|
What we like: ✔️ Matte finish & premium build ✔️ Excellent airflow ✔️ Great vapour & flavour ✔️ Easy top-fill design ✔️ Optional larger glass |
What we don’t like: ● 0.2ohm coils burn fast ● Airflow ring can get stiff with condensation |
The Geekvape Zeus tank is a long-time favourite among Direct-Lung (DL) vapers for its combination of sturdy design, smooth airflow and great flavour. With its matte finish and compact form, it feels premium without being bulky, though it does have a bit of welcome weight to it.
Both included coils perform well for DL vaping, delivering dense vapour and rich flavour. The 0.4ohm coil offers the best balance of taste and coil life, while the 0.2ohm burns faster under heavy use.
Airflow is one of the Zeus’s biggest strengths — smooth, adjustable and capable of everything from a slightly restricted to an airy draw. Refilling is easy thanks to the top-fill design, but heavy vapers may prefer the optional larger glass, as the standard capacity runs out quickly.
You'll love this if: You want a premium-feeling Direct-Lung tank with smooth, adjustable airflow and rich flavour that's built to last.
Alternatives: Choose the Vaporesso iTank T for a similarly premium experience with precisely controlled top airflow, or the Innokin Zlide Top if you want the flexibility to switch between MTL and DL styles.

Aspire BVC ET-S: Proven MTL reliability
Reviewed by: Alison, ECD Team
|
What we like: ✔️ Excellent coil life — up to five days of heavy use ✔️ Very good flavour and throat hit ✔️ Slender, well-made build with an easy-view e-liquid window ✔️ Straightforward coil changes |
What we don't like: ● Bottom-fill design can occasionally leave e-liquid on your hand ● No variable airflow |
The BVC ET-S is an older tank, but it's earned its place on this list through sheer reliability, which is probably while it remains a firm favourite with MTL vapers!
The build quality is immediately noticeable. It feels solid and well-made in hand, with a slender profile that sits neatly on most mods. The viewing window is a small but genuinely useful touch, and I really like being able to see at a glance how much e-liquid is left.
Coil life is where the BVC ET-S really stands out. With heavy, all-day use, I was consistently getting around five days from a single coil, which is better than a lot of newer tanks. Flavour and throat hit are both excellent for MTL vaping, though I'd stick to freebase e-liquids. The draw is tight enough that nicotine salts don't feel like the right match here.
Refilling works by holding the tank upside down and unscrewing the base, which takes a little getting used to. Occasionally I'd get a small amount of e-liquid on my hand from the exposed coil, not a dealbreaker, but worth being aware of before your first fill.
One other quirk worth knowing: if you drop the tank, the base can sometimes dislodge slightly and cause a small leak. The fix is simple, press the top of the tank firmly down onto a hard surface until you hear a click.
There's no variable airflow, so what you get is a fixed, tight MTL draw. If that suits you, this is one of the most dependable tanks you can buy.
You'll love this if: You want a slim, reliable MTL tank with outstanding coil life and consistent flavour from freebase e-liquids.
Alternatives: Choose the Aspire Nautilus 3 for a wider airflow range and the option to occasionally switch to a looser draw, or the Innokin Zlide Top if you want a single tank that handles both MTL and DL styles.

How we chose the best vape tanks
To select the tanks here we’ve used a combination of our own ratings, the popularity of these devices, both in terms of sales and ‘on the scene’, as well as taking into account customer feedback.
Very occasionally, we’ll add a just launched tank to the list – but only if it totally blows us away in testing.
All of the tanks here are made to UK standards and are compliant with EU and UK regulations.
If you prefer your tank to come as part of a complete kit, you’ll find options available on our Best Mod Kits and Best Vape Kits posts.
