Vaporesso Xros Pro 2: A future classic

Man holding a Vaporesso Xros Pro 2 vape kit up to his mouthReviewed by: Ben, ECD Team

What we like:
✔️ Fantastic flavour and smooth vapour
✔️ Superb battery life with fast charging
✔️ Sleek, premium design
✔️ Easy to use and versatile
What we don’t like:
● Nothing major - it’s that good

As a long-time fan of the Xros series, I was excited to try the Xros Pro 2 – and it didn’t disappoint. Vaporesso have taken what was already one of the most popular refillable pod ranges and refined it beautifully, combining style, power and flavour in one sleek device.

The first thing that strikes you is the build quality. The form factor feels spot on – solid, compact and stylish. The new screen is invisible until lit up, then bursts into life with clear, useful information. It’s a subtle touch that adds a premium feel without making the device look cluttered.

Performance-wise, it’s a clear step up from earlier models. The new Corex 3 pods deliver impressively dense but smooth vapour, and the flavour really shines, especially with menthol or cooler blends. Vapour feels rich yet balanced, making it ideal for both new vapers and those who want a reliable everyday kit.

Battery life is another huge win. The 2000mAh battery comfortably powers through a full day - and then some - with no noticeable drop-off in performance. When it does need a top-up, charging is lightning-fast, meaning less downtime and more vaping.

Overall, the Xros Pro 2 is a superb evolution of an already excellent range. Easy to use, durable, and packed with thoughtful refinements, it strikes the perfect balance between form and function. In my opinion, it stands head and shoulders above most devices in its class – and feels like a future classic in the making.

You’ll love this if: You want superb flavour, long battery life and a sleek design.

Alternatives: Choose the Oxva Xlim Pro 2 for more control, or the Vaporesso Xros 5 Mini for a simpler, more compact device.

Oxva Xlim Pro 2: Easy to use yet versatile

Oxva Xlim Pro 2Reviewed by: Lloyd, ECD Team

What we like:
✔️ Long-lasting battery
✔️ Easy to use
✔️ Great flavour
✔️ Vibrant display
What we don’t like:
● Rubber bung filling can be fiddly
● Remaining charging time not displayed

The Xlim Pro 2 is an impressive pod device that provides all the flavour you’d want from a vape kit.

Design-wise, it’s conveniently sized - slim and lightweight with a high-quality metal finish.

Using the included 0.6ohm Xlim pod, the flavour produced was great, as I’d expect from the Xlim series (although the rubber bung filling can be a little fiddly).

While easy to use, I like that the device has both adjustable wattage and airflow that allows me to customise my vape.

The 1300mAh battery is larger than you usually get with devices of this size with 50% battery life remaining after a full day of use (350 puffs) at 22W.

The button click patterns are easy and, if you forget, you can simply hold down the button for instructions. The screen is vibrant with a clean display and I like that you can vape while the device is charging - although I do wish the remaining charging time was displayed on the screen.

Overall, this is a perfect device for those looking for a compact, high-quality pod kit that’s easy to use yet customisable with great flavour and battery life.

You’ll love this if: You like strong flavour, long battery life and easy control.

Alternatives: Choose the Xros Pro 2 for faster charging.

Vaporesso Xros 5

Woman vaping a Vaporesso Xros 5 vape kitReviewed by: Emily, ECD Team

What we like:
✔️ Increased battery life
✔️ Great flavour
✔️ Easy-to-use
What we don’t like:
● Charging port on side

The Xros series has become the most popular device type in the UK, thanks to excellent flavour, reliability and ease-of-use - all factors retained in the Xros 5.

The biggest change here is the battery life. When we reviewed the Xros 4 we noted the increased performance meant a compromise with battery life - but that’s now been fixed. The 1500mAh battery is 50% larger than the original, but it seems to last more than 50% longer. When my colleague reviewed the Xros 4, it only lasted a few hours, but the Xros 5 was still going strong on the second day of vaping.

Other changes I liked were the bubbled screen and the fact you can change the colours on the screen easily.

There’s not much I didn’t like about the device, but I would prefer a very slight increase to the airflow. Unlike my colleague, I don’t like the charging port being on the side either, as it makes it more awkward to charge the device.

You’ll love this if: You want great flavour and long battery life in an easy-to-use pod kit.

Alternatives: Choose the Xros 5 Mini for portability, the Xros Pro 2 for more features or the Oxva Xlim Pro 2 for increased airflow control.

Vaporesso Xros 5 Mini

Woman holding a Vaporesso Xros 5 Mini pod kitReviewed by: Lloyd, ECD Team

What we like:
✔️ Increased battery life
✔️ Solid, seamless build
✔️ Easy-to-use
What we don’t like:
● Airflow on side

The Xros 5 Mini is similar to the original Xros 4 Mini, but with a lot more battery life!

As with the original device, it’s beginner friendly - with fixed-coil pods, automatic power settings and inhale firing. This easy-to-use design makes this kit ideal for new vapers or prefilled pod kit users looking for a no-fuss refillable device.

The two biggest changes are the 50% increase in battery life (1500mAh in such a compact device is seriously impressive), and the 80% charge in just 20 minutes which is a great feature too.

The charging port and the airflow have been moved to the side of the device. I know a lot of people asked for this, but I wasn’t too keen on this, as it’s easy to accidentally block it with your finger when vaping.

You’ll love this if: You prefer a compact, no-fuss vape with strong flavour.

Alternatives: Choose the Xros 5 for adjustable settings, or the Elfbar 600 for prefilled pods.

IVG 2400: Multi-pod, big puff design

IVG 2400 prefilled pod kitsReviewed by: Alison, ECD team

What we like:
✔️ Long-lasting battery
✔️ Large e-liquid capacity
✔️ Strong flavour
What we don’t like:
● Pods are not transparent

IVG’s 2400 has everything you would want from a big puff vape device - long-lasting battery life, easy operation and great flavour.

Testing the device over a few days, I found the battery life particularly impressive - with the 1100mAh battery lasting a full day of moderate use straight out of the box. When the battery did run low, after a 15-minute charge it lasted me a further 2 days. I also found the colour-coded battery indicator handy to let me know when to recharge.

I chose the Pink Edition kit of tropical fruit and citrus flavours and, while 20mg nicotine is a little strong for me, all of the pods produced very nice, strong flavours. The Fizzy Cherry pod was especially tasty!

Tip: While all of the kits are mixed flavours, you can purchase separate pods and stick to a single flavour if you prefer.

One downside of this device was not being able to see how much e-liquid was left in each pod, and a transparent design would have been more convenient.

While I usually stick to refillable vape kits, the 2400’s long-lasting battery life and convenient design means I’d find it useful if I was going away or on holiday and didn’t want to carry my larger device and extra e-liquids.

Overall, this is a great kit if you’re looking for a convenient device with strong flavours.

You’ll love this if: You like bold flavour, long battery life and multiple pods.

Alternatives: Choose the Dojo Blast 10K for visible pods, or the Lost Mary BM6000 for a smaller option.

Oxva VPrime: Superb flavour, all-day battery life

Oxva VPrimeReviewed by: Emily, ECD Team

What we like:
✔️ Great flavour
✔️ Comfortable curved design
✔️ Long-lasting battery
What we don’t like:
● Side-filling design
● Locking system doesn’t lock wattage

The Oxva VPrime pod mod is a fantastic little device that produces perfect flavour!

Using the included 0.6ohm pod with my Elfliq Peach Ice nic salts, the flavour was fantastic and the pod lasted me a full 5 days.

The pod fits perfectly into the device with strong magnets making it feel sturdy and secure. However, I wasn’t keen on the side-filling port as this could easily cause leaking if the bung isn’t securely replaced.

I love the rounded/curved design of the device as I found it very comfortable to hold and the display screen is crisp and clear.

The 2600mAh battery lasted me a full day of use which was impressive and the device charges like a dream - with a full battery within an hour.

You can easily lock the device using the up/down buttons, however, this only locks the fire button and not the device wattage. This would have been handy as the adjustment buttons are at the side of the device and I did find myself accidentally knocking them and unintentionally changing the wattage.

Overall, apart from some very small drawbacks, this is a great pod mod for those looking for long-lasting battery life and fantastic flavour.

You’ll love this if: You want top-notch flavour, comfort and all-day battery life.

Alternatives: Choose the Geekvape Aegis Boost 3 for durability, or the Xlim Pro 2 for simplicity.

Geekvape Aegis Boost 3: Versatile & durable pod mod

Geekvape Aegis Boost 3Reviewed by: Lloyd, ECD Team

What we like:
✔️ Durable IP68 design
✔️ Choice of modes for all experience levels
✔️ Range of coils for multiple vape styles & e-liquids
✔️ Great flavour & airflow
What we don’t like:
● Touch activation can be too sensitive
● Black plastic pod means you can’t see e-liquid levels

The Aegis Boost 3 pod mod is an impressive all-in-one kit with enough customisable settings and coil options to suit any kind of vaper.

As with most Geekvape products, it has a solid water, dust and shockproof build with a metal body and a comfy rubber grip at the back.

The touch-activated lock feature is interesting, allowing you to unlock the device just by touching the back grip. This could be improved, though, as I found my device unlocking through the material of my pocket. Luckily, traditional locking is also available in the settings.

Using the device with the included 0.2ohm coil and a 70:30 shortfill the device performed very well - with good flavour and a very airy adjustable airflow.

However, the black plastic pod design meant I couldn’t see my e-liquid levels and I feel a transparent pod would be a big improvement.

The large front-facing LED screen displays all relevant device information in an easy-to-understand format and I like that you can customise the screen colour settings.

With 6 modes to choose from including beginner-friendly Smart mode and battery-saving ECO mode, the Aegis Boost 3 can work for you no matter how you like to vape. Add to this the range of coils allowing you to use both 50:50 and high-VG e-liquids, this is a device that will last for a long time to come.

You’ll love this if: You want power, durability and full control.

Alternatives: Choose the Oxva VPrime for a sleeker pod mod, or the Innokin Endura T22 Pro for a simpler setup.

Innokin Endura T22 Pro: Easy-to-use mod kit, great battery life

Innokin Endura T22 Pro

What we like:
✔️ Long-lasting 3000mAh battery
✔️ Customisable 4-level power output
✔️ Tight draw & strong throat hit perfect for former smokers
✔️ Easy sliding top-fill design
What we don’t like:
● Fixed airflow not suitable if you prefer an airier vape

With its easy-to-use design, restricted inhale and strong throat hit, the Endura T22 Pro makes it a great option for smokers looking for a no-fuss introduction to mod vaping.

I found both the mod and tank to have great build quality and the 4-level power output (9.5 - 13.5W) offers customisation over your vape. The battery life is also excellent, with the 3000mAh battery comfortably lasting me 2 days of use.

The included Prism T18E tank provides a tight, restricted draw with a strong throat hit. This, combined with the feel of the mouthpiece, provides a vape very similar to cigarette smoking. However, the tank doesn’t have adjustable airflow control so wouldn’t be suitable if you prefer a more airy vape.

While the Endura T22 Pro isn’t the most advanced or powerful mod kit out there, overall, it makes a perfect choice for first-time vapers switching from smoking.

You’ll love this if: You’re switching from smoking and want a tight, cigarette-style draw.

Alternatives: Choose the Xros 5 Mini for a compact device, or the VPrime for more power.

Elfbar 600: Disposable flavour in a reusable device

Elfbar 600 vape devicesReviewed by: Lloyd, ECD Team

What we like:
✔️ Great alternative to disposables
✔️ Strong flavours
✔️ Easy to use
What we don’t like:
● Not as cost-effective as refillable devices

If you used Elfbar 600 disposables when they were available, the Elfbar 600 reusable kit has all the convenience and flavour you’ll remember - but in a rechargeable, prefilled pod format.

The device is easy to use, and similar to disposables, with the main difference being that you can replace the pod when it’s empty. The battery can also be recharged, and the clear RGB indicator light at the bottom lets you know when the battery is running low.

The inhale firing activation is ultra-convenient and I found it very responsive and easy to inhale.

Testing the device using the Blue Sour Raspberry pod, I found the flavour was great and the set airflow produced a surprising amount of vapour for such a compact device.

Using the device straight from the box, I found I had to recharge it before the end of the day (probably due to the battery not being fully charged at first). However, when I’d fully recharged the battery it comfortably lasted a full day.

There are over 22 Elfbar 600 pod flavours to choose from and, as an added bonus, the device is also compatible with Elfa and Lost Mary Tappo pods - offering even more options.

You’ll love this if: You miss disposables or want a no-thought, prefilled pod device.

Alternatives: Choose the Dojo Blast 10K for more capacity or the Xros 5 Mini for refillable pods.

Lost Mary BM6000: Large e-liquid capacity, bold flavour

Lost Mary BM6000 vape device

What we like:
✔️ Strong, smooth flavour
✔️ Refills last 6 times as long as standard pods
✔️ Impressive build quality
What we don’t like:
● Limited range of nicotine strengths

The BM6000 kit has everything I’d expect from a Lost Mary device - impressive build quality, a smooth MTL vape and strong flavour.

The new reusable version features a replaceable 2ml pod and 10ml refill container, and now comes with a 1000mAh rechargeable battery, expanding the battery capacity of the original.

Design-wise, the device has impressive build quality - and the clear refill container is a plus as it means I can easily check the remaining e-liquid level.

Trying the Strawberry Raspberry Cherry Ice option, the more restricted draw isn’t to my personal preference but it did provide the strong flavour I’d expect from Lost Mary without being overly sweet - making it a good option for all-day-vaping. While the strength was suitable for me, as the range is currently only available in 20mg/ml, it may be a little strong for those used to lower-strength vapes.

The 1000mAh battery lasted a whole day of vaping - substantially longer than the original disposable version. 1000mAh is very respectable for a prefilled pod device, but could be larger, especially when compared to devices like the IVG 2400 with its 1750mAh battery.

Overall, this is a great option if you’re looking for a no-fuss, long-lasting prefilled pod kit with strong flavour. With its ease of use, big puff design and range of flavours, it’s a perfect choice for new vapers or fans of Lost Mary looking for a longer-lasting alternative to the BM600 device.

You’ll love this if: You want a long-lasting, bold-flavour pod kit.

Alternatives: Choose the IVG 2400 for more flavour options, or the Dojo Blast 10K for a lighter draw.

Uwell Caliburn G4: Customisable pod kit with strong flavour

Uwell Caliburn G4 pod kitsReviewed by: Will, ECD Team

What we like:
✔️ Strong flavour and vapour
✔️ Clear, colourful screen with themes
✔️ Quick charging
✔️ Adjustable airflow
What we don’t like:
● Branding can wear off over time
● Minor leakage from the pod

The Uwell Caliburn G4 is one of the more customisable pod kits I’ve used - which is impressive as it is also straightforward and easy-to-use. The colourful screen comes with changeable themes, and a handy night mode. It’s also one of the few pod devices that stands upright easily, though I noticed that despite the premium feel the printed branding can wear off over time.

Using the 0.4ohm pod at 35W in Storm mode, I found the flavour and vapour production impressively strong - perfect if you like a punchy hit. The coil also lasted longer than I expected for a high-wattage setup. Vapers who prefer a gentler, steady hit can use the Waves mode.

The duck-billed pod design is comfortable, and the adjustable airflow lets you tailor your draw, though there was some minor leakage over time. Battery life is solid, with quick charging via the side port making it easy to top up.

Overall, the G4 is a great option if you want a compact, flavourful pod kit with a bit more control than usual.

You’ll love this if: You want a customisable pod kit with strong flavour.

Alternatives: Choose the Xlim Pro 2 for similar control, or the Xros Pro 2 for smoother flavour.

The Dojo Blast 10K: Best for puff count

Dojo Blast 10K sticking out of jeans pocketReviewed by: Helen, ECD Team

What we like:
✔️ Pleasant, long-lasting flavour
✔️ Vape for days without replacing the pod
✔️ Satisfying draw and hit
✔️ Easy to use
What we don’t like:
● It’s very big!
● Mouth piece not as comfortable as other devices

The Dojo Blast 10K has proved almost universally popular among my colleagues, so I was keen to give it a try. However, when I first saw it, I thought I might go against the consensus – after using Xros devices for years, the Dojo seemed huge!

But that size is there for a reason. The device contains 10ml of e-liquid, equivalent to five regular prefilled pods. That means you can easily vape it for several days without doing anything more than recharging the battery.

Despite its bulk, the Dojo Blast 10K provides a light and airy vape, while delivering a satisfying hit and flavour that packs a punch. The Double Apple flavour I used for testing was pleasant – not too sweet, with a satisfying bite and clear taste. The flavour stayed strong right up until the pod was completely used up.

As you’d expect from a prefilled pod kit, the device is very easy to use. You do need to remove the enormous red rubber bung (which looks a bit like a space rocket!) separating the pod from the battery before first use, but this was simple to do.

The Dojo Blast 10K comes with a 1000mAh battery. Given the size of the device, it would be nice to see a little more capacity (the IVG 2400, for example, comes with 1750mAh), but the Blast 10K still easily lasted me a full day of vaping with charge to spare.

While large, the device is comfortable to hold and feels slick. However, I didn’t find the mouthpiece quite as comfortable as my regular Xros series.

You’ll love this if: You want long-lasting flavour and huge capacity.

Alternatives: Choose the IVG 2400 for on-the-go flavour swaps, or the Lost Mary BM6000 for a smaller device.

How we selected these vapes

It’s always tempting when writing a post like this to fill it with the latest, shiny devices.

But that would be a mistake. Despite advances in technology, there are older vape kits that have withstood the test of time – and they’ve done so for a good reason.

Instead, to select the kits here we’ve used a combination of our own ratings, the popularity of these devices, both in terms of sales and ‘on the scene’, as well as taking into account customer feedback. Very occasionally we’ll add a just launched kit to the list – but only if it totally blows us away in testing.

All the kits here are made to UK standards and are compliant with EU and UK regulations.
