What are clearomisers?

The term clearomizers came about because of a merging of the words atomiser (US;atomizer) and clear. The first vape devices consisted of closed cartridges powered by an atomiser, and clearomisers represented an evolution of these. They were still powered by an atomiser (now more commonly known as a coil), but for the first time you could see how much e-liquid was left in your vape.
