What is a vape pen?

Vape pens refer to the style of a vape device; long, cylindrical and often slim. As the name refers to the shape of the device, vape pens can include different types of device. For example, both pod devices and vape mod kits can be vape pens if they are cylindrical in shape.

Are vape pens right for me?

Vape pens are ideal for people who prefer a discreet, compact device that is aesthetically pleasing and fits neatly into a tight pocket or small bag. While some vape pens can be used at higher power levels, most are simple to use and suited to vapers of all experience levels. We particularly recommend simple rechargeable vape pens for vapers switching from disposables to reusable vapes.

What type of vape pen should I choose?

The best type of vape pen depends on your needs and requirements.

Simplicity/convenience: The most easy-to-use vape pens are disposables and prefilled pod systems. We recommend choosing prefilled pod kits such as the Lost Mary Tappo over disposables, as they are cheaper, create less waste and are no more difficult to use than a disposable device.

Range of flavours: Choose a refillable vape pen or pod device such as the Innokin GO Z, as these can be used with hundreds of different flavours.

Cost effective: Choose a refillable vape pod device. While the initial kit may be more expensive than a disposable or prefilled device, the ongoing cost is much less. For example, a disposable device typically costs around £2.50 per ml of e-liquid, while a bottle of 10ml e-liquid costs around 25-30p per ml of e-liquid. For maximum cost effectiveness, pair with shortfill e-liquids and use pods or tanks with replaceable coils (use Coil Connection: Changeable in the filters above).

Vape style: If you prefer to hold vapour in your mouth before you inhale it, choose a Mouth-to-Lung (MTL) vape pen. However, if you tend to inhale straight into your lungs, choose a Direct-Lung (DL) vape pen. You can select these kits using the filters at the top of these pages. How do you use a vape pen?

How you use a vape pen depends on the style of vape pen you have:

Disposable: Simply remove the stoppers from the top and bottom and inhale.
Prefilled pod kit: Clip the pod into the device, and inhale. Recharge the device as needed.
Refillable vape pen: Fill the pod or tank with e-liquid. The first time you do this, wait five minutes before using to allow the e-liquid to soak in. When the vapour starts to feel scratchy, replace the pod or coil.
