An ideal starter kit for new vapers, the Smok Solus is super easy-to-use with little setup and maintenance needed. To start vaping, just fill the included pod, click into the device and inhale on the mouthpiece.
The buttonless device uses bypass power to automatically set the wattage for you based on its remaining battery capacity. (See more about bypass power in the FAQs below.)
The Solus has an internal 700mAh battery and you can keep an eye on your battery levels thanks to the handy LED indicator on the device body so you know when it is time to recharge.
Please note, you will need a micro-USB cable to recharge this device (sold separately).
The auto-draw firing feature means you simply inhale on the pod’s mouthpiece to start vaping.
The included Solus pods are refillable and have a fixed 0.9Ω mesh coil. This convenient fixed-coil design means there is no need to replace the coil when it reaches the end of its life as you simply replace the whole pod.
Compatible E-liquids & Pods
The Smok Solus uses fixed-coil Solus pods and is recommended for use with VG:PG 50:50 e-liquids and nicotine salts.
Who is the Smok Solus kit for?
The Solus is suited to vapers of all experience levels. Its easy-to-use features make it particularly suited as a starter kit for beginners.
What e-liquid can you use in the Smok Solus?
The Smok Solus is best used with e-liquids or nicotine salts with a 50:50 VG:PG ratio.
Is the Smok Solus a Mouth-to-Lung device?
Yes. The higher resistance coils in Solus pods make it perfect for Mouth-to-Lung vaping. See MTL v DL for more information.
What is bypass power?
Bypass power delivers the full power of the battery to the coil without being moderated by the chipset. This means power output will be higher when the battery is fully charged and lower as the battery level drops. See Advanced Vaping Modes for more information.
Can I charge my Smok Solus overnight?
Lithium batteries should not be left unattended when charging. It is also important to use an appropriate charger, such as the Veho Plug Adaptor. For more information see our battery safety infographic.
How long do Solus pods last?
The key element to how long a pod lasts is the coil in the pod. This depends on a number of factors such as how frequently you inhale and how long you inhale.
However, you can maximise the life of the coil by allowing the e-liquid to soak in before using it for the first time, by using e-liquid with the correct VG:PG ratio and by keeping the pod topped up. With care, the pods should last several days to a week or more.

Using Your Tank: Best Practice
Follow these simple steps to get the most out of your tank.
- When filling, always avoid getting e-liquid in the centre tube.
- Don’t hold down the button before inhaling.
- When attaching the coil, screw it in firmly but don’t over-tighten.
- Make sure you use the right power settings. If unsure, check the manual or start with a low power setting and work your way up till you get the right hit.
The Right and Wrong Ways to Treat Batteries!
Battery Safety Information
- Ensure you use the correct charging equipment for your e-cig (see below).
- Charge batteries on a hard surface.
- Turn your battery off when not in use.
- Use damaged batteries.
- Leave charging batteries unattended.
- Allow contact between your batteries and water.
- Carry in a pocket with coins or keys. (The Kbag is a great way to carry batteries securely and safely).
- Expose your battery to sunlight, extreme heat or cold.
For more information see our E-Cig Battery Safety Infographic.
Recommended Charging Equipment
We recommend the Veho Plug Adaptor and the Nitecore Intelli charger (for external batteries). Both are high quality devices from a reputable manufacturer, have performed well in testing and have the right voltage output for e-cigs.
Extending Your E-Cig Battery Life
With regular usage, your e-cig battery will usually last for 3 months, although they can last longer. The following steps can help extend the life of your battery
- Cleaning your battery terminal. The most effective way to do this is to use a cotton swab soaked in alcohol, but you can also clean it with a tissue or a cotton swab.
- Keeping your battery charged. Keeping some charge in your battery can extend your battery life, especially if you go for some time without using it.
How To Maximise the Life Of Your Coils
Always allow your e-liquid to soak into your coil for at least five minutes before using it. This will help prevent your coil from burning out.
When you have a more powerful coil, or one with more wicking material, it’s also a good idea to prime it by applying a few drops of e-liquid into the coil holes before filling.
Once you’re using the device, it is important to keep your tank topped up. If the e-liquid gets too low and the coil is exposed, the coil can burn out.
