No study has ever been done which documents that vaping results in the formation of carcinogens that adhere to surfaces, and no study has ever been done which documents that vaping on airplanes results in the deposition of such carcinogens or to carcinogen exposure among passengers.”

  1. Fabulous job. These are great. I think Stan Glanz has actually said somewhere that ecigs are safer. I’m sure he’d be tickled pink to be included here.

  2. “Three months of additional smoking poses a greater risk to someone’s
health, on average, than a lifetime of using a low-risk alternative”

How many people have used the electronic cigarette for a life time ?

  3. Obviously, we only have a maximum of about 8 years data on existing ecigarette smokers. But the quote did refer to low risk alternatives in general, and we do have a wealth of data on other low risk alternatives. For example, in Sweden, where snus is legal, the lung cancer rate in men is about 10%, roughly half that in the rest of the EU (where snus is illegal).

  4. “Entre jouer avec un canif et une kalachnikov, en tant que médecin, j’essaye de conseiller de choisir plutôt le canif. “.*
B.Dautzenberg médecin, président de l’Office français de prévention du tabagisme (OFT)

*”Between playing with a knife and a Kalashnikov, as a doctor, I try to choose rather to advise the knife.”

    1. Are you talking about the deaths caused by the use of illegal cannabis products in the USA? We’ve written about that and other issues here: At the same time, it’s worth remembering that smoking kills 1300 people, per day, in the USA alone. It also generates huge amounts of money for entrenched interests, much of which is invested back into a sophisticated and well-financed campaign against vaping.
