Bar Salts are nicotine salt e-liquids that replicate the flavour of disposable vapes. They have a much stronger flavour concentration than standard nic salts and are typically a lot sweeter. As a result, they are also harder on coils than regular e-liquid or nicotine salts - but see our device recommendations below for the best coil/hardware combinations.
Like other nicotine salts, they use the natural form of nicotine found in tobacco leaves - which ensures they give a smooth throat hit.

Elux Legend
Chinese manufacturer Elux originally made its name in disposable devices, but has recently ventured into the bar salts market… with resounding success.
Launched in 2023, the Elux Legend nic salt range captures the award-winning flavours of Elux disposables in a selection of delicious double-concentrated vape juices ideal for use with lower-powered pod and starter kits.
With a choice of fruit-based flavours including tropical and berry options, Legend salts have proved popular with vapers around the world - already being named Best E-Liquid Range 2023.
The Elux Legend range stood out to me due to the wide flavour options. You’ll find some flavours you’d expect but also some unique ones such as Fresh Menthol Mojito and Blueberry Cherry Cranberry. Elux is known for their famous disposable range, and these bar salts really resemble them - sweet and very tasty!

SKE Crystal Original
Replicating the flavours found in SKE’s world-famous Crystal Bar disposables and the Crystal Plus prefilled pod device the Crystal Original nic salt range is the most economical way to enjoy SKE flavours.
Available in a range of 10 delicious fruit-based flavours in both 10mg and 20mg options, Crystal Original vape juices stand out from other bar salts for its more muted sweetness and iciness - allowing the full taste of the flavour notes to come through with every puff.
Compared to other bar salt ranges I found the Crystal Originals range doesn’t have as much of a punchy flavour. However, this isn’t a bad thing. It actually makes the range stand out by not being overly sweet or sickly like some others, but still has more flavour than traditional nic salts.

While many of the ranges on this list are from established disposable vape brands looking to break into the e-liquid market, UK manufacturer Bar Juice 5000 is a bit different. Riot Bar EDTN
The largest collection on this list, Riot Squad’s Riot BAR EDTN leaves you spoilt for choice with both flavour and strength options.
Amongst a selection of 30+ fruit, berry and tropical-based blends, you’ll also find some delicious soda-inspired options including Cherry Cola, as well as the cooling Fresh Mint for those who prefer menthol flavours.
Adding even more versatility to this range, each Bar EDTN flavour is available in a choice of 5mg, 10mg and 20mg nicotine strength options.
Riot Bar EDTN has a wide range of flavours to choose from. Personally, I like how most have a strong flavour - not overly sweet with little to no menthol. My current favourite is Blue Raspberry as it has a different flavour profile compared to other blue raspberry flavours I’ve tried due to having more of a blueberry tone over raspberry.

Seriously Bar Salts
Seriously Bar Salts may be one of the smaller ranges on this list - but prove less is more with this full-flavoured collection. Known for their award-winning flavours, Doozy Vape Co’s venture into the bar salts market has only continued its reputation for quality - producing one of the best ranges we’ve tried.
With fruit, citrus and soda-inspired options in a choice of 3 strengths, you’ll find that, while some have the sweetness you’d expect from bar salts, Seriously Bar Salts are not sickly or overly sweet. You’ll also find some more muted options perfect for the more discerning flavour palette.

Although a smaller range, currently consisting of 8 flavours, Seriously Bar Salts are full of flavour. The more simple fruit combinations make a nice change with no surprises. My current favourite is Triple Mango Ice - which has a strong mango flavour and just a touch of ice rather than being overpowering.

Double Brew Bar Series

The Double Brew range packs one of the strongest punches I have experienced without being too sweet. I was also happy to see the options of flavours increasing. Although I don’t usually vape pineapple flavours, their Pineapple Ice is one to remember - a pure-tasting pineapple with a small amount of ice to keep it refreshing.

Many bar salts users will be switching from disposables to reusable devices. If that’s you, we recommend choosing a simple-to-use device. Bar salts can be hard on coils too, but they work well with the devices mentioned below.
Disposable cross over
One option is the Aspire R1 device. This is a device that can be recharged and refilled. However, when the coil comes to the end of its life, you dispose of the device and buy another one.
While it’s not the most economical option when it comes to vaping, it involves less cost and environmental waste than regular disposables. It also makes a great cross-over device for users transitioning to refillable devices.
Vape starter kit
Another option is to use a device with replaceable, refillable pods. These are the best options for both reducing cost and for sustainability.
As mentioned, bar salts can be hard on coils. After experimenting with various devices, as well as talking to numerous customers, we have found that Vaporesso Xros devices such as the Xros 3 work well with bar salts when used with a 0.8Ω coil (or 0.6Ω for an airier draw).
